Ah, missed a day.  Well, that's gonna happen.

Another poem accepted!

Tim DeChristopher is out of isolation.  Thousands contacted Herlong and they responded to the outcry.

And Adrienne Rich.  The woman who wrote:  Until we can understand the assumptions in which we are drenched we cannot know ourselves.  And how I wrote pages and pages in my journal trying to understand my own assumptions and how they had shaped and limited me and how to break out of all that.  Thank you for all you've done to help me move past those assumptions.

It's been a big day.

News that Tim DeChristopher has been put into isolated confinement for an email he wrote to Dylan Rose has broken.

I got a poem accepted.

And the book about making my blog look more like I envision it arrived in the mail.

More tomorrow once I've processed all this.

Waiting...........

I'm waiting for a "how to" book to arrive in the mail so I can figure out how to do more than type a block of copy.  You know -- like add a picture or two.  Create a "Links" list.  That kind of thing.

In the meantime it's raining.  A good day to curl up someplace warm with a cup of tea and a good book.  Which is what I'm about to do.

okay folks, this blog has been alive less than 24 hours and I've already written 2 opening posts ... and discarded both of them.What have I learned?  Blogging is different from writing and that you can't really control it the way you might control other things you write. Or you'll never put a post up. So I'll just dive in, say "here I am"  and maybe see you later or tomorrow or at least soon.

And that I'll figure out font and size and all that other stuff as I go along!
